Climate

Woomera has a clear desert climate, with low humidity levels and mostly cloud-free days. The favourable weather is ideal for year round trial programs and local tourism activities.

The temperature chart depicts average maximum and minimum temperatures. Typical day temperatures range from 15-25 degrees Celsius in winter to 30-40 degrees Celsius in summer. The wind speed chart shows average surface wind speed at two times during the day. Average speeds range between 10 and 22 km/hr. The average annual rainfall is 189 mm with a nearly steady monthly average of ~15 mm.
