The Woomera Emergency Service (WES) is staffed by full time crews and provides a high response capability, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. WES provides Ambulance, Fire, Rescue and Hazardous Materials response service to the Woomera village, the Woomera Prohibited Area and a substantial part of the Stuart Highway between Port Augusta and Coober Pedy.

WES, in partnership with the Country Fire Service, provides a mutual aid service to the Woomera region. The mutual aid partnership sees the Country Fire Service provide Fire, Rescue and Hazardous Materials response.
