The Aerospace Operational Support Group (AOSG) is responsible for the management and operation of the Woomera Test Facility (WTF) including capability development.
AOSG is headquartered at RAAF Base Edinburgh near Adelaide and has a dedicated WTF team led by the Director Woomera Test Facility. WTF staff deploy to Woomera as required to support trial activities, typically on a campaign basis. A small WTF group based at the Defence Centre Woomera provides day-to-day coordination of range activities, management of range safety and liaison with pastoralists and other groups in the WTF.
AOSG has a broad range of Test and Evaluation (T&E) expertise and maintains a comprehensive suite of fixed and transportable instrumentation capable of meeting international standards. While focussed on the T&E requirements of the Australian Defence Force, AOSG can provide support to external customers via arrangement with the Director Woomera Test Facility. Potential services encompass assistance with the approval, planning, and conduct of trials in the WTF. Existing instrumentation includes tracking radars, telemetry systems, kinetheodolites, high-speed cameras and ordnance firing equipment.
Further information is available in the WTF Capability Brief and associated Woomera Data Packs (refer to Contact Points).
